About The Position

This is a part-time, temporary position. Must be 18 years of age or older. The Food For Lane County (FFLC) Summer Food Program provides children with nutritious meals where school meals are not available in the summer. Site Supervisors serve free meals to children and youth ages 18 years and younger at designated meal sites across Lane County. This position is responsible for transporting program materials and meal coolers daily using their personal vehicle to their designated site. Meals are served according to US. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Lane County Health, Oregon Department of Education, and Food for Lane County’s rules and regulations. Site Supervisors works to maintain relationships with participants and to create a welcoming environment at meal sites.

Requirements

  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to all participants
  • Ability to work independently
  • Current driver’s license with good driving record, current auto insurance, and ability to use personal vehicle for business
  • Ability to safely lift 40 pounds
  • Ability to obtain a current Food Handlers card
  • Ability to commit to a M-F lunchtime schedule from June 16– August 22
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • The use of a smart phone will be necessary to meet the requirements of this position. FFLC will provide a monthly reimbursement towards a personal phone plan.

Responsibilities

  • Transport meal coolers, forms, and equipment to and from the designated serving site using a personal vehicle
  • Complete and submit required paperwork daily
  • Setup and breakdown of the serving site five days a week
  • Sanitize equipment at the end of each day
  • Serves free meals to youth safely and according to USDA, Lane County Health, and Food for Lane County’s rules and regulations
  • Work collaboratively with coworkers to create a positive, safe, and well-organized meal distribution
  • Ensures that serving site is left free of litter
  • Report customer service issues to the Youth and Family Programs Manager
  • Treat all youth and adults with dignity and respect
  • Maintain a professional appearance, manner, and approach while on duty
  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisor
