About The Position

The Summer Day Camp Group Leader is responsible for planning and leading various activities for children, providing positive role modeling, and ensuring the safety and well-being of the campers. This role involves supervision both on and off-premises, including transportation, and requires adherence to state standards and Salvation Army policies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Safety oriented at all times.
  • A clean, current driver’s license
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Ability to pass a FBI and BCI Background check

Nice To Haves

  • Prior education experience preferred
  • Prior childcare experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead recreation, craft, and educational activities.
  • Provide children with positive reinforcements and role modeling.
  • Provide supervision to children on and off premises.
  • Facilitate the transportation of children as needed.
  • Facilitate weekly transportation inspection and monthly transportation drills.
  • Attend required in-service training, as well as required training to meet state standards.
  • Maintain and monitor attendance records and sign-in/out sheets.
  • Other duties deemed necessary for the proper operation of the Summer Program by the Program Director.
