About The Position

NORY is seeking a passionate Site Director for its premier STEM summer camp in NYC. The role involves leading and supporting educators, ensuring a positive experience for campers and parents, and guiding staff development. This position is designed to prepare individuals for high-level educational leadership roles and offers training in various STEM topics. NORY is a growing organization that welcomes over 4,000 campers annually across multiple locations.

Requirements

Proven experience managing and coaching a team of 4+ teachers while fostering a positive, collaborative team environment.
A proven track record of building strong, professional relationships with families in a camp or educational setting.
5+ years of experience teaching children ages 3–12 in any subject or discipline.
A distinct willingness to learn, adapt, and quickly adopt new technologies and operational skills.

Responsibilities

Coach and Train Counselors: Mentor and develop teaching staff, ensuring they understand activity purposes and implement protocols for a fun, safe camp environment.
Nurture Campers and Families: Build strong, supportive relationships with campers and their families to enhance the overall camp experience.
Operations Management: Efficiently oversee and manage all physical aspects of camp operations, including materials, facilities, and daily schedules.
Administrative Oversight: Maintain accurate, up-to-date administrative records for all aspects of the camp to ensure smooth daily operations and compliance.
Step-In Teaching: Enthusiastically lead camp activities or classes to maintain a high-quality experience for campers when coverage is needed.
