Introduction South Hills Interfaith Movement (SHIM) is a human services organization dedicated to mobilizing community resources and implementing sustainable programs that compassionately help our neighbors meet basic needs, achieve self-sufficiency, and build community. We provide direct assistance (food, clothing, and utility assistance) as well as a variety of programs including service coordination, children and youth programs, and the South Hills Family Center. Program Summary: SHIM’s Summer Camp is designed to foster summer fun for elementary & middle school students living in the South Hills community through unique enrichment activities, field trips, and community partners. SHIM Summer Camp serves approximately 150 children in 1st through 8th grade. The Summer Camp currently operates for 8 weeks in the summer starting in June and running until August. Summer Camp meets Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Job Summary: The Summer Camp Manager will oversee and manage the Summer Camp program by planning the daily operations of the program, supervising staff, communicating with families, and overseeing all program activities. The Summer Camp Manager will lead the day-to-day program to ensure the physical and emotional development of students, primarily from immigrant and refugee backgrounds. This is a part-time position beginning in April and ending in August. Before camp starts, hours of the job will be flexible as planning and prep work is needed (up to 20 hours/month). While camp is in session hours typically ranging between 8:00 am – 2:00 pm Monday through Friday.
