About The Position

Join our enthusiastic team as a Summer Camp Counselor at our vibrant aquatic facility, where every day is filled with adventure and laughter! As a counselor, you'll lead and supervise campers in a variety of activities, including swimming, games, and educational sessions. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the safety of campers in and around the water, organizing engaging group activities, and fostering a supportive and inclusive camp environment. This role offers the chance to inspire and mentor young campers, develop leadership skills, and create lasting memories in a fun and dynamic setting. Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Be able to work a whole camp week, Monday through Friday, 8:45 am - 3:15 pm, from Mid-June to Mid- August
  • Candidate must be enthusiastic, outgoing, and have a willingness to learn
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for 8 hours
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support Certification
  • Must be comfortable in the water

Nice To Haves

  • Basic Life Support Certification

  • Previous experience with children
  • Previous experience with people with disabilities and/or special needs
  • Ability to swim and feel confident in the water with children

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of all camp participants by enforcing the guidelines established by the Camp Director
  • Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate care as needed
  • Communicate and cooperate with Camp Directors and other management teams
  • Organize and set up camp activities
  • Model enthusiasm and positivity at all times
  • Supervise groups of children- age varies from 4-15 years old
  • Provide feedback, or appropriate discipline, to camp participants
  • Establish professional relationships with camp participants, community residents, and co-workers
  • Assume the role of Camp Director as needed or in their absence
  • Participate in water activities in and around the pool
  • Perform other duties as assigned
