Summer Camp | Class Assistant 2026
About The Position
Chess Wizards is looking for energetic people to teach chess in summer camps. We’ve developed an interactive day-camp format which includes all kinds of activities to keep kids both physically and mentally engaged during their time with us. Team chess games, puzzles, skill-building, and team and individual physical games are just some of the ways we integrate the whole person into our camp activities. A day in Chess Wizards camp might include: Exploration of a technical chess concept. Fun group challenges which hone specific chess thinking patterns. A healthy snack. A mini-tournament. Fun physical activities and camp games, like capture-the-flag and blob tag.
Requirements
- Willingness to teach through fun and innovative methods.
- Must be safety and security conscious.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations.
- Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities
- Assist our Chess Instructors in teaching chess to campers.
- Create a safe, supportive, stimulating, and fun environment for campers.
- Interact with campers, adding to the program by providing supervision for daily activities such as recreational games, and opening/closing
- Assist in drop-off and pick-up of campers.
- Assist with daily set up and clean-up of camp.
- Supervise campers.
