About The Position

BrightStar Care of Midtown Raleigh is seeking compassionate, dependable, and experienced caregivers to provide exceptional support to children and young adults with special needs during our summer camp program, taking place July 18–23. This role involves providing personalized care, ensuring safety and comfort, and facilitating participation in camp activities. Opportunities for continued employment are available. The position requires strong communication skills, reliability, and a commitment to high-quality care in accordance with BrightStar Care standards and North Carolina regulations.

Requirements

  • Experience working with exceptional children and young adults, typically ages 13–25 (ages may vary).
  • Minimum of one year of home care or related caregiving experience.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current TB test completed prior to employment start date.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and compassion.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team while providing client-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care services according to each client's individualized plan of care.
  • Accurately document care provided, time and attendance, and other required information in BrightStar Care's MABS system.
  • Maintain and submit shift availability at least two weeks in advance through the MABS system.
  • Arrive on time and complete all assigned care tasks during each shift.
  • Report client condition changes, concerns, or incidents to the Director of Nursing in accordance with state regulations.
  • Help maintain a safe, supportive, and positive environment for all clients.
  • Follow all BrightStar Care policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Protect and uphold client rights, including privacy, dignity, the right to accept or refuse care, and confidentiality of personal and medical information.
  • Respond appropriately and efficiently in emergency situations.
  • Use equipment safely and according to established guidelines.
  • Assist with feeding and other activities of daily living for individuals with special needs.
  • Participate in and support outdoor camp activities.
  • Safely transfer, reposition, and lift clients weighing up to 50 pounds.
