About The Position

L’Alliance New York is seeking caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Summer Camp Assistant Teachers to support its Language Center Summer Camp program in Manhattan. This temporary, in-person role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working with children and want to contribute to a fun, safe, and engaging summer experience rooted in language, creativity, and culture. Assistant Teachers play an essential role in supporting lead teachers, helping children throughout the day, and ensuring that camp routines, transitions, and activities run smoothly.

Requirements

• Must hold valid U.S. work authorization.
• Be a French native speaker or equivalent level.
• Strong sense of responsibility and professionalism.
• Ability to support routines, transitions, and group supervision.

Nice To Haves

• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
• Previous experience with children in camps, schools, afterschool, babysitting, or similar settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the lead teacher during daily camp activities, workshops, and transitions.
• Help supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, including outings.
• Assist with classroom setup, cleanup, and organization of materials.
• Help children during snack, lunch, rest time, and daily routines.
• Support a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all campers.
• Help monitor attendance and assist with arrival and dismissal procedures.
• Support children’s engagement, participation, and well-being throughout the day.
• Communicate any concerns or important observations to the lead teacher or camp leadership.
• Follow all camp safety procedures and internal protocols.
