About The Position
Jovie of San Antonio is hiring seasonal summer sitters to support local families during their busiest months. This role is perfect for individuals with childcare experience, such as babysitters, camp counselors, nannies, daycare assistants, or teachers on summer break, looking to earn steady income and gain valuable experience. The position offers flexibility in choosing two consistent weekdays that fit your summer schedule, with typical weekly hours ranging from 5 to 20 hours. Assignments will be matched within 30 miles of your home.
Requirements
- 1+ year of childcare experience, which may include nannying, babysitting for non-family clients, daycare, church nursery, camps, or similar roles
- Experience caring for children outside of one's own family
- 2-3 childcare references (professional and/or family)
- CPR/First Aid or willingness to obtain
- Valid driver's license + reliable transportation
- Must be 18+
Nice To Haves
- Worked as a babysitter, camp counselor, nanny, daycare assistant, or a teacher on summer break
Responsibilities
- Provide in-home care for children ages 1-13
- Lead fun, age-appropriate summer activities
- Support routines: meals, naps, playtime, bedtime
- Prepare snacks and simple meals
- Transport children safely when needed
- Maintain a safe, positive environment
- Clean up after any activities, meals, or play time
