Note: School counseling licensure required. Note: To be considered, applicants must be a legal resident of the State of New York. This is part-time in-person for Summer 2025. Requirements
- IN PERSON
- School counseling licensure required or Social Worker
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience preferred
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds
- Work location is in a school building where employee will need to be able to go up and down stairs
- Frequent standing and ability to raise arms above the head
- Hand dexterity for typing and entering data into a computer
- Applicants must be presently eligible to work in the United States.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with Title I students a plus
Responsibilities
- In this position, you would be a part of an educational team consisting of a supervisor and educators.
- This team works with school districts to deliver the highest-quality education to students in a small group learning environment.
- As an Academic School Counselor you will work on a one-on-one basis or in small groups providing classroom guidance and promoting student engagement and performance.
- Academic School Counselors will be a part of a team that works with students who qualify for Title I assistance.
- Responsibilities include consulting and developing rapport with parents, classroom teachers, school principal and other school personnel on a regular basis.
- Working to keep an open line of communication available at all times and provide local resources to the school staff and parents as needed.
