About The Position

The Consulting Services division of RubinBrown LLP provides strategic guidance to clients across many industries and business units. This division helps businesses improve processes, comply with regulations, strengthen information technology support, perform complex data analytics, consult on ERP implementations, investigate potential fraud, support M&A activities, and perform valuation of businesses or transactions, along with performing industry-focused consulting such as gaming and healthcare. Team members with the Consulting team are dynamic, well-rounded, creative, and independent thinkers who have a strategic mindset. The M&A and Valuation Services Intern will perform work in one or both of the service lines below: Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Buy- and sell-side financial due diligence, including understanding key accounting policies and analyzing financial data to assess: historical and projected financial and operating trends; quality of earnings; working capital considerations; and potential risks and liabilities – all of which can impact valuation of the target company and purchase agreement negotiations. Communicate with various external stakeholders, including clients, target management and ownership teams, investment bankers, attorneys and other relevant parties. Create and contribute to tailored diligence reports communicating our findings and recommendations around key diligence and business issues in the transaction in a clear and concise manner. Valuation Services (VS) Assist with valuation engagements in a wide variety of industries for the following purposes: financial reporting purposes (ASC 805/ASC 350), gift and estate tax, 409A/ASC 718, management planning, litigation support, and/or M&A. Prepare financial and valuation analysis of closely held companies and intangible assets using spreadsheet modeling. Gather and analyze industry and comparable company research from public documents. Review documents (financial statements, legal agreements, etc.) from an analytical perspective to strategically assess how they impact the subject interest to be valued. Requirements

  • Enrollment in, or completion of, a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance with a minor in Accounting
  • Planned graduation (with ability to start a full-time role) May 2028 or earlier

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or minor in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Information Technology, Management, and/or Consulting a plus.
  • Plans to pursue professional licensure/certification, such as CPA or CFA.
