Position Description: The Alcon R&D team is looking for a talented and motivated Intern to join us during a Summer 2026 Internship opportunity at our Fort Worth, TX location. Alcon interns will have the opportunity to gain industry experience and network with other Alcon professionals. The Intern will also have the chance to make a real-world impact by working on meaningful projects that will help patients and customers see brilliantly. Alcon also offers interns personal and professional development, high visibility and coaching and mentoring opportunities.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to internship or co-op, and at least one additional semester following internship or co-op.
  • Must be pursuing at least a Master's level degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Polymer Science, Organic Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Process Engineering, Data Science, Ocular Cell Biology or related major.
  • Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects).
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT can be accommodated).
  • Ability to commit to a 10–12-week, full time (40 hours per week) summer internship.
  • Must have a graduation date of December 2026 of later.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on experience with biomaterials, advanced imaging technologies, chemical/biological characterization, and data analysis.
  • Independently develop new analytical methods, searching literatures, designing and conducting experiments to test ideas, analyzing data, discussing with internal/external experts, writing technical reports and presenting the project results to solve technical challenges and provide scientific solutions.
  • Thoroughly and clearly documents experiments and prepares high quality technical documents.
