About The Position
Stratus recently partnered with Stewart and is seeking a SUE Field Technician, who will be part of a SUE crew assisting in the performance of subsurface utility engineering (SUE) location utilizing the latest equipment and surveying technologies.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience
- High school degree or equivalent
- Valid drivers license
- Dependable and physically able to work outdoors and on construction sites in all weather conditions
- Willing and able to work overtime as required.
Nice To Haves
- Complete an advanced utility locating training course or ability to obtain within 6 months
Responsibilities
- Assist SUE Field Supervisor and other crew members with all aspects of the daily crew workload.
- Operate SUE instrumentation and equipment such as global positioning systems (GPS), data collectors, EM locaters, ground penetrating radar, and vacuum excavation equipment.
- Assist in the performance of SUE surveys to ascertain the locations of man-made structures on the Earth’s surface, underground and underwater.
- Ensure safekeeping of equipment.
- Read and Interpret construction, utility, and survey maps.
- Ensure vehicle and supplies and ready for duty.
