About The Position

As a SUE Coordinator at LJA Engineering, this position will be responsible for coordinating office duties, supervising and managing field and office technicians, preparing scopes of work and pricing proposals, billing, quality assurance and quality control.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years in the SUE industry with extensive experience in utility designation and utility research.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a management role overseeing SUE field and office technicians.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • Be able to pass criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR.
  • Must prioritize the safety of yourself and others.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform utility designations and operate locating equipment.
  • Submit an 811-utility request, coordinate with utility owners, and obtain utility maps.
  • Train and direct SUE Field Crews in the operation of SUE utility locating and designating equipment in complex utility infrastructure environments to accurately map all utilities within the project area.
  • Train SUE Field Crews in the creation of detailed accurate daily reports, forms, and field sketches, both electronically as well as draft by hand. Quality Control of same.
  • Schedule and supervise daily SUE Field crew activities.
  • Assist and coordinate with internal/external clients in preparing scopes of work, fee estimates and obtaining utility data, maps and information from available resources and utility owners.
  • Represent and communicate on behalf of LJA with clients, sub-contractors, and third parties during field activities.
  • Sell SUE services in the public and private markets.
