About The Position

Supports the development, coordination, and monitoring of compliance and ensures that all practices meet the required program standards. Manages and updates the Life Skills Curriculum for home campus and affiliate sites. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Provides safe and effective services Adheres to policies related to safety and boundaries with service recipients. Attends safety and abuse risk management training as assigned. Adheres to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising service recipients. Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations. Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements. Adheres to policies and procedures related to Medication Administration for service recipients. Participates in the development, coordination, and monitoring of procedures to ensure Site compliance Supports the development of quality assurance systems and activities. Prepares program-specific protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and coordinates the review and approval process. Provides updates and training to staff on new regulatory, contractual, and accreditation standards and ensures new standards are incorporated into current quality assurance activities. Assists in the coordination of activities and awareness of staff engaged in preparation for licensing, contractual, certification, and accreditation audits. Coordinates and assists with development of compliance systems for program and personnel areas. Follows up on areas of non-compliance and assists with recommendations and implementation for appropriate changes. Maintains regulatory, contractual, certification, and accreditation information and materials. Collaborates with Youth Care Support Services to ensure licensing and accreditation standards are under compliance. Monitors, reviews, and updates Life Skills Curriculum for the Senior Planning process, Advanced and Applied Life Skills sessions, as well as for the Affiliate sites Life skills programming. Updates and prints of the materials and distributes to all eligible participants. Updates the Advanced and Applied Life skills curricula. Collaborates with the affiliate sites to ensure the Life Skills curriculum is updated, communicated, and implemented effectively. Oversees class management and performance related to Advanced and Applied Life Skills curriculum. Primary contact for coordination of facilities, materials, and schedule for the Advanced Life Skills small group classes. Establishes and maintains a safe and productive learning environment by utilizing effective classroom management techniques. Effectively communicates the Advanced Life Skills schedule and processes.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to youth care, transitional living, and alumni support.

  • Ability to comfortably utilize a collaborative approach to teaching and learning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex material translated into usable form to educate and improve life skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups of people.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Culturally competent to work with very diverse groups of participants.
  • Bachelor’s degree in the Human Services, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field required.
  • In lieu of a degree, equivalent and related work experience may be considered (e.g. 4 years of experience with the Boys Town model).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience facilitating training programs or group discussions with youth and young adults, providing coaching or mentoring, or a related experience required.
  • Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends required.
  • CPR certification obtained during pre-service training required.
