About The Position
Jobs for America's Graduates - Kansas (JAG-K) is seeking a full-time Success Academy Specialist for Southwest Kansas. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about student success, supporting them in overcoming barriers, and preparing them for secondary education, training, military service, and career pathways. JAG-K is a non-profit organization that partners with Kansas schools to offer an elective class providing academic and positive supports to ensure students graduate. With 121 programs in 54 Kansas school districts, JAG-K serves over 5,500 students by educating them through career exploration and teaching soft skills, preparing them for successful transitions to post-secondary education, military service, or the workforce. The organization emphasizes building strong relationships with students to guide them toward success and fosters a culture of 'Humble, Hungry, and Smart' among its employees, valuing team players who share credit, prioritize the team, are eager for opportunities, think proactively, and possess emotional intelligence. Requirements
- High school diploma
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work well independently
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficient with technology
- Complete a Selective Hiring Assessment
Responsibilities
- Identifies, recruits, and educates students who face difficulties that hinder their graduation.
- Helps students make a successful transition from school to college, military, or career pathways using the JAG model.
- Develops positive relationships with students.
- Utilizes the JAG Advantage, including project-based learning, trauma-informed practices, and employer engagement, to deliver student-centered programs.
- Aims to help youth achieve their greatest potential.
- Delivers value-added instruction, support, and advocacy to graduates and non-graduates through follow-up services.
