About The Position
Mason Preparatory School is an independent school dedicated to educating the whole child by inspiring curiosity, fostering community, and developing character through an engaging, student-centered learning environment, strong relationships, and academic excellence. We are looking for dependable, caring, and enthusiastic individuals for substitute teaching opportunities that may arise throughout the school year across different grade levels and subject areas. Substitutes play an important role in supporting our faculty and ensuring continuity of learning and supervision when the lead classroom teacher is absent. This is an ongoing applicant pool rather than a posting for one specific vacancy. Applications will be reviewed as substitute needs arise throughout the school year. Qualified applicants may be contacted regarding available assignments based on school needs, experience, qualifications, and availability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Nice To Haves
- Background in Education or related field preferred
- Prior substitute/lead teacher experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Follow lesson plans, classroom procedures, schedules, and instructions as provided by the lead classroom teacher
- Supervise and monitor students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and other school events
- Support classroom management using positive behavior guidance and social-emotional techniques
- Comply with all Mason Preparatory School policies and procedures, and expectations
