About The Position

Kokua is seeking Substitute Teachers for the 2024-25 school year in Brooklyn and surrounding NYC areas. This part-time role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact in the community by connecting students with classroom role models, helping to address the teacher shortage crisis, and providing representation in classrooms. The position offers a flexible schedule, allowing individuals to pursue other passions while substitute teaching. Requirements

• Completed Bachelor’s Degree (per NYC requirement)
• 1+ year(s) experience working with K-12 students
• Confidence to manage a classroom of students
• Ability to pass a background check
• Availability within a 7:30am-4:30pm window

• Preference is given to candidates willing to commute to 2+ boroughs
