About The Position

We are seeking an energetic and experienced Substitute Teacher to join our team! As a Substitute Teacher, you will teach classes using the curriculum provided by the school on a temporary or long-term basis. Your goal is to create a welcoming learning environment and provide students with the tools they need to reach their full potential. The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, and highly organized! Our teachers are trained to set up their classrooms in multiple learning centers tailored to meet your child’s needs in the following areas: dramatic play, art center, science and math, manipulatives, writing, library, blocks, and computer centers. Our teachers’ ultimate goal is to prepare students to strive for academic excellence. Children are given the opportunity to explore and develop learning skills needed for a good foundation and a solid future.

Requirements

Must have Fingerprints for childcare licensing and negative TB test.
Understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management.
Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience as a substitute teacher is preferred.

Responsibilities

Teach classes using the curriculum provided by the school on a temporary or long-term basis.
Create a welcoming learning environment.
Provide students with the tools they need to reach their full potential.
Follow lesson plans left by the teacher or director.
Prepare any necessary learning materials.
Take attendance.
Track students’ progress and document for the regular classroom teacher.
Report behavioral incidents.
