About The Position

New Covenant Academy is seeking qualified Substitute Teachers for the Fall 2026. NCA is a Christian College Preparatory School serving grades Jr.K-12. All qualifying candidates must support the mission statement: "New Covenant Academy is a Christian college preparatory school committed to achieving Academic Excellence, teaching Biblical Truth, and developing Christ-like character". Substitute teachers are expected to perform all of the duties of the teacher they are replacing, including any scheduled extra duties the regular teacher may hold, unless specifically excused or directed otherwise by the principal. The role of this position is to engage and inspire students to learn the subject matter and impart skills and attitudes that will positively contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christian men and women. The substitute teacher will integrate Biblical principles throughout the curriculum, implement a course of study outlined by the teacher to meet the individual needs of students, assess student progress and report back to the teacher regarding that progress. The substitute teacher must also have the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with parents, students, administration, and faculty for the success of each student.

Requirements

  • Same spiritual and personal qualifications as for all teachers.
  • A Christian testimony reflected in a daily walk that exemplifies the Christian faith and demonstrates evidence of regeneration and dedication to the cause of Christ.
  • An expressed desire (call) to work in a Christian school.
  • A bachelor's degree or the equivalent, or at least 60 hours of college work.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with parents, students, administration, and faculty.
  • Ability to demonstrate proper techniques and skills needed for athletic participation.
  • Ability to perform emergency procedures evacuating students out of the classroom (possibly through a window) or following other emergency protocols.
