Substitute Teacher- Summer Camp
About The Position
We are seeking reliable, flexible, and student-focused Substitute Teachers to provide coverage at our after-school program locations. Substitute Teachers play an important role in maintaining a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment when regular staff members are unavailable. Substitutes may work at one or both of our program locations: Whitney Young and Homewood. Applicants may indicate whether they are interested in serving one location or both. This position is ideal for educators seeking flexible work while making a positive impact on students in a supportive school environment.
Requirements
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classrooms and age groups.
- Reliable transportation to assigned location(s).
- Dependable, flexible, and professional.
Nice To Haves
- Professional Educator License (PEL) preferred. Applicants should indicate whether they currently hold a valid PEL.
Responsibilities
- Provide classroom coverage for scheduled staff absences.
- Supervise and engage students in academic and enrichment activities.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and professional learning environment.
- Follow lesson plans and daily schedules provided by site staff.
- Communicate effectively with site leadership and program staff.
