This position involves substituting for regular teachers, implementing their routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives. The role requires establishing and maintaining a safe and orderly classroom environment conducive to student development, providing meaningful instruction, and fostering positive relationships with students, families, staff, and school administration. The substitute teacher must work cooperatively, report student issues promptly, maintain high energy and professional competence, and comply with all school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety. Confidentiality is essential, and other related duties may be assigned to ensure efficient functioning. Employment is conditional upon successful federal criminal background checks covering the last 10 years of living and working history, with any convictions reviewed against safeguarding principles for working with children. All checks must be received before employment begins.
