About The Position

This position involves substituting for regular teachers, implementing their routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives. The role requires establishing and maintaining a safe and orderly classroom environment conducive to student development, providing meaningful instruction, and fostering positive relationships with students, families, staff, and school administration. The substitute teacher must work cooperatively, report student issues promptly, maintain high energy and professional competence, and comply with all school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety. Confidentiality is essential, and other related duties may be assigned to ensure efficient functioning. Employment is conditional upon successful federal criminal background checks covering the last 10 years of living and working history, with any convictions reviewed against safeguarding principles for working with children. All checks must be received before employment begins. Requirements

  • Provision of federal criminal background checks covering the countries that you have lived and worked in for the last 10 years
  • Satisfactory Criminal Background Checks or equivalent covering the previous 10 years’ employment history

Responsibilities

  • Review and implement regular teacher’s routines, procedures, lesson plans and curriculum objectives
  • Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment (supervision); provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for every student
  • Provide meaningful instruction to students
  • Develop and maintain positive student, teacher, staff and parent relationships
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with students, families and school staff
  • Report any student injuries, illness and serious discipline problems to school administration
  • Maintain a high level of energy throughout the entire school day
  • Maintain a high level of professional competence
  • Comply with all policies and procedures of the school, including but not limited to safeguarding and health and safety
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
