About The Position

This is a full-time Substitute Teacher position at a Bronx Preschool. The role involves ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of individuals, conducting assessments, supervising staff, implementing educational programs and behavior interventions, and maintaining documentation. The position also requires interaction with parents and other professionals, punctuality, and adherence to company policies and values. The hourly rate ranges from $23.00 to $29.00, commensurate with certification, education, experience, and ABA credentials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in one of the following areas: Child Psychology, Child Development, Elementary Education, Nursery-Grade 6 Elementary Education, Special Education (Students w/ Disabilities B-2 or 1-6), or General Education – must have at least 12 credits specific to early childhood within any of these areas
  • 3 letters of recommendation required upon hire
  • Clearance through state mandated Background/Fingerprint Check(s).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others and individuals served.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis preferred.
  • Ability to run.
  • Ability to safely assist lifting individuals of various weights & 20 lb items.

Responsibilities

  • Complete required QSAC orientation.
  • Ensure health, safety & welfare of individuals.
  • Conduct formal and informal assessments of educational programs and behavior interventions.
  • Supervise Teacher’s Assistants/Aides and participate in the implementation of educational programs and behavior interventions.
  • Implement and adhere to IEP/Student Program.
  • Supervise and implement completion of program/student documentation.
  • Supervise and delegate responsibilities to Teacher’s Assistants/Aides.
  • Complete and maintain training requirements.
  • Complete required program documentation/certifications (e.g. Employee Medicals, PPD, CPR, etc. as required).
  • Interact/communicate with parents, college interns, professionals, and other interested visitors.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance is expected.
  • Maintain participant/family confidentiality.
  • Commitment to company values and adherence to policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or senior management.
