About The Position

St. Elizabeth Catholic School in Alice, Texas, is seeking to hire qualified substitute teachers. This position is closely connected to and assists the Diocesan Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church. As an integral part of ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal life. Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required
• Must be of the Christian faith
• Valid Texas Driver’s License
• Must be 21 years or older
• Submit to employment required screenings, criminal history background, drug screening, and MVR
• Obtain certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child and Family Resources
• The position requires adherence to diocesan policies and procedures

Nice To Haves

• Prior teaching experience preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Actively supervise and provide instructional support and classroom management to students in the absence of the teacher of record for assigned classes
• Continuously grow in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed
• Perform other duties as assigned
