About The Position

As a BrightBee Substitute, you'll work with school partners in San Jose who are seeking versatile and dependable Substitute Teacher to join our educational team. In this role, you will step into diverse classroom environments to provide seamless instructional continuity when the regular teacher is absent. The more sites and assignment types you are open to working, the more your earning potential is. Requirements

Bachelors Degree
California Substitute Permit or California Teacher Certification
Pass a background check
Complete required school clearances including a Mandated Reporter Training
Follow safety and reporting guidelines
Pass a background check, livescan and may need to obtain other necessary testing/clearances and provide us with authorization to contact former employers.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
Active progress toward certification is expected during the interview process.

Responsibilities

Prepare the classroom space and materials in accordance with provided lesson plans
Lead student instruction and maintain behavioral expectations
Manage daily classroom tasks, including taking attendance, monitoring hall passes, and supervising lunch or recess periods as required
Document student progress and classroom happenings through detailed end-of-day reports to ensure the permanent teacher is fully informed upon their return.
Support students with learning and classroom activities
Help manage behavior using positive reinforcement
Assist during lunch, recess, and school activities
Work closely with teachers and school staff
