About The Position

Kokua Education is seeking dedicated Substitute Teachers to join their team in the Brooklyn and surrounding NYC area for the 2026-27 school year. This role offers the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn up to $210 per day, and make a significant impact on students' lives. Requirements

Completed a Bachelor's Degree.
1+ year(s) experience working with K-12 students.
Confident in managing a classroom of students.
Willing to step in where needed (lunch/recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, proctoring).
Pass state & federal background checks (costs reimbursed after 10 assignments).

Nice To Haves

Willing to commute to 2+ boroughs.
Available to teach 3 days/week.

Responsibilities

Substitute teach in K-12 classrooms.
Manage a classroom of students.
Step in where needed, including lunch/recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season.
Add representation by helping kids learn from unique experiences.
