About The Position

Kokua Education is seeking Substitute Teachers in Los Angeles for the 2026-27 school year. This part-time role allows you to set your own schedule, earn up to $260 per day, and make a positive impact on students' lives. We aim to place positive role models in classrooms who spark a love for learning. Successful candidates will be placed in K-12 schools across the Los Angeles area. The application process and interviews can begin immediately.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience working with children in any setting (classroom, tutoring, coaching, etc.).
• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• Hold a valid, unexpired California Teaching Credential (CTC) Sub Permit or full California Teaching Credential.
• Ability to manage a classroom of students.
• Willingness to step in where needed.
• Pass state & federal background checks.

• Experience working with students.

Responsibilities

• Teach in K-12 classrooms.
• Supervise students during lunch/recess.
• Monitor hallways.
• Provide tutoring.
• Proctor during testing season.
