About The Position

Short-term substitute teachers serve one or more days when teachers are absent from school. Long-term substitutes work daily for an extended period when a teacher’s absence is prolonged.

Long-term substitutes are compensated at a higher rate than short-term substitutes.

Requirements

• Minimum of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university.
• All employees are required to consent to a background check, commit to our Code of Conduct policy, and complete online and in-person trainings prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Cover assigned teacher's classroom and non-classroom responsibilities
• Report student attendance and lunch count to the main office
• Monitor and ensure student safety at all times
• Provide instruction based on lesson plans left by the teacher
• Supervise recess and/or lunch duty according to teacher's supervision schedule
• Collect and secure assignments to be graded by the teacher
• Make lesson plans following the curriculum
• Grade assignments, tests and quizzes
• Attend faculty meetings as part of the staff
