About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of the Childcare Center, the substitute teacher/aide will be responsible for facilitating the day-to-day operations of the center or assisting the teacher in facilitating the daily operations of the center. The substitute will monitor and ensure safety and program guidelines in their classroom, provide a safe, happy, and positive environment for all children, plan and implement all activities appropriate for 0-5 year-olds, complete DRDP assessments as needed, and communicate with parents as needed.

Requirements

Six (6) completed core semester units of early childhood education/development and enrolled in at least two (2) semester units at a college until fully qualified or possess a teaching credential.
Six (6) months experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program.
Knowledge of Title 22 Regulations.
Knowledge of planning and implementing curriculum for children ages 0-5.
Knowledge of current principles and practices of early childhood education in a play-based, family-centered program.
Knowledge of current classroom supervision requirements for staff and volunteers.
Knowledge of family inclusion and education.
DOJ and FBI Fingerprint Clearance.
Eight (8) hours of Preventative Health and Safety Training within three (3) months of hire.
