About The Position

We are seeking Substitute Teachers to join the New Horizon Academy team in Kansas City, KS! Our substitute network will support multiple locations in the Kansas City metropolitan area. As a New Horizon Academy educator, you will delight in beautifully equipped classrooms, have support and encouragement from knowledgeable staff, and be a brain-builder who helps shape the leaders of tomorrow. The work we do is essential, as a child's first five years are the most important for social and emotional brain development.

Requirements

  • Meet state requirements for teacher qualification as defined by the Kansas Child Care Licensing Program.
  • Have reliable transportation.
  • Be able to work a full-time schedule, Monday-Friday between the hours of 6:30 am-6:00 pm.
  • Have a positive work ethic and a team-centered attitude.
  • Be willing to learn and grow as an educator.
  • Enjoy working with children!
  • Meet or exceed state qualifications for the listed position.
  • Must meet position qualification requirements as outlined by the state department guidelines.
  • Can satisfy the Applicant Background Study required by state regulations.
  • Can provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
  • Has the physical abilities to perform the required job duties with or without accommodations.
  • Has the ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and staff as well as to understand state licensing regulations and company policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous childcare experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in Early Childhood Education or related field of work.

Responsibilities
