About The Position

This position involves providing instruction and maintaining a positive learning environment as a substitute teacher. The role requires adherence to school policies, safeguarding principles, and a commitment to student well-being and development. The position is conditional upon successful completion of federal criminal background checks covering the last 10 years of residency and employment history, with any convictions reviewed against safeguarding principles for working with children. All required checks must be received before employment begins. Requirements

  • Provision of federal criminal background checks covering the countries that you have lived and worked in for the last 10 years
  • Convictions highlighted will be reviewed against standard Safeguarding principles of working with children
  • All checks requested to be received prior to commencement of employment
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • Subject to appropriate vetting procedures, including an online due diligence search, references and satisfactory Criminal Background Checks or equivalent covering the previous 10 years’ employment history.

Responsibilities

  • Review and implement regular teacher’s routines, procedures, lesson plans and curriculum objectives
  • Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment (supervision); provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for every student
  • Provide meaningful instruction to students
  • Develop and maintain positive student, teacher, staff and parent relationships
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with students, families and school staff
  • Report any student injuries, illness and serious discipline problems to school administration
  • Maintain a high level of energy throughout the entire school day
  • Maintain a high level of professional competence
  • Comply with all policies and procedures of the school, including but not limited to safeguarding and health and safety
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
