About The Position

Edith Bowen Laboratory School is looking for School substitutes. This position is on an as-needed basis during the 2026-2027 public school year. This person serves as a substitute for teachers or classroom aides that are absent. Jobs are typically assigned as either a half-day (4 hours) or full-day (7.5 hours). Compensation will be paid on a daily rate based on qualifications. Job offers are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
• Utah teaching license

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision for a classroom or other groups of students as assigned.
• Ensure the safety of students and other employees.
• Communicate clearly with other employees and share a detailed report with the employee for whom they have substituted.
• Assist students in continued learning in the absence of their normal teacher or aide.
• Follow lesson plans as provided.
• Abide by all health and safety protocols at Edith Bowen Laboratory School and Utah State University.
