About The Position
Kokua Education is seeking Substitute Teachers for the West Hollywood and nearby Los Angeles area for the 2026-27 school year. This part-time role allows you to set your own schedule, earn up to $260/day, and make a positive impact on students' lives. Kokua aims to place positive role models in classrooms who spark a love for learning. You will be paid weekly via W-2. This position offers a path to full-time roles at K-12 schools and the opportunity to teach close to home. Kokua provides real support daily and values adding representation in classrooms through diverse educators.
Requirements
- At least 1 year working with kids in any setting (classroom, tutoring, coaching, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Hold a valid, unexpired California Teaching Credential (CTC) Sub Permit or full California Teaching Credential.
- Feel confident managing a classroom of students.
- Pass state & federal background checks.
- Believe every child has a unique & powerful gift to share with the world.
Nice To Haves
- Willing to step in where needed - this could include lunch/recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season.
- Add representation - help kids learn from your unique experiences.
Responsibilities
