About The Position

A substitute teacher assists with classroom instruction in the absence of a regular teacher. This person follows lesson plans, aids students in understanding subject matter, and ensures that the regular classroom routines are followed in accordance with the goals and directives of the school and the Catholic Schools Office of the Diocese of Nashville.

Requirements

• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to understand and follow lesson plans.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students.
• Ability to set the proper tone from the beginning for classroom management.
• Flexibility.
• Friendliness.
• Ability to establish quick rapport with students.
• Ability to maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality when dealing with student, staff and/or parent information.
• Must attend an orientation/training session.
• Must complete required credentialing requirements (Background check, review of school procedures, etc.).
