Part-time Substitute Teacher - Mesquite, TX
About The Position
Kokua Education is seeking Substitute Teachers for the 2026-27 school year in Mesquite and the surrounding Dallas area. This part-time role allows you to set your own schedule, earn up to $142 per day, and make a positive impact on students' lives. Kokua, meaning 'to come together to fulfill a need,' focuses on placing positive role models in classrooms who spark a love for learning. You will be paid via W-2, offering a convenient tax process. This position provides an opportunity to get your foot in the door for permanent roles at K-12 schools and offers support from 6 am to 8 pm daily. You can also add representation by sharing your unique experiences with students.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience working with children in any setting (classroom, tutoring, coaching, etc.).
- Completed 48+ college credit hours.
- Confidence in managing a classroom of students.
- Willingness to step in where needed.
- Ability to pass state & federal background checks.
- Belief that every child has a unique & powerful gift to share with the world.
Nice To Haves
- Associate's degree or 48+ credit hours: $120/day for daily assignments and $135/day for long-term assignments.
- Bachelor's degree or higher: $126/day for daily assignments and $142/day for long-term assignments.
Responsibilities
- Teach in K-12 classrooms.
