About The Position

The purpose of the Elementary Teacher role is to provide high-quality teaching and learning experiences that support the academic, social, and emotional development of young students. The teacher creates a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment where all children are encouraged to reach their full potential. Through planning, instruction, and assessment, the elementary teacher plays a key role in building foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking, while fostering a lifelong love of learning. ISP Principles guide the role, emphasizing a student-centered approach, well-being and safety, mutual respect, operational effectiveness, financial responsibility, and continuous learning. The role also involves upholding school policies, integrating technology, and identifying individual student needs, including those with special educational needs.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching methods
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
• Ability to create a supportive, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
• Effective classroom management and behaviour management skills
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Proficiency in using educational technology and digital teaching tools
• Ability to assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work as part of a team
• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field
• Teaching certification or licensure valid for the specific state, region, or country
• Previous experience teaching elementary-aged children (typically 1–3 years or more)
• Experience working with children of diverse backgrounds and learning abilities
• Familiarity with the curriculum and educational standards relevant to the school
• Experience in lesson planning, assessment, and classroom management
• Participation in professional development and ongoing teacher training
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
• Willingness to undergo appropriate vetting procedures, including online due diligence, references, and satisfactory Criminal Background Checks or equivalent covering the previous 10 years’ employment history.

• Identify and respond to the individual needs of students, including those with special educational needs or learning difficulties.
• Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance learning and engagement.
