About The Position
Substitute Teachers (26-27 School Year) Helena Public Schools is seeking caring professionals for the 26-27 School Year for all grade levels, with both short and long-term assignments available. Our vision is to foster dynamic educational experiences that prepare all students for life. As a Substitute Teacher, you contribute to this mission by providing instruction in the classroom while a teacher is absent. You will work as part of a team that serves 8,000 students at 18 campuses across Helena.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Montana Teacher License is ideal
- Must successfully complete the appropriate background check prior to employment
- Completion of OPI course, "Welcome to Our School! An Introduction for Substitute/Guest Teachers" available via the Learning Hub
Nice To Haves
- One year of college education
- Prior experience working with children is preferred
Responsibilities
- Promote a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth in the teacher's absence
- Provide assistance for individual students and/or small groups based on lesson plans
- Maintain appropriate student records
