About The Position

Johnny Appleseed Elementary School is seeking dedicated and flexible Substitute Teachers to provide high-quality instruction and classroom management when regular classroom teachers are absent. Substitute Teachers help ensure continuity of learning by delivering the classroom teacher’s lesson plans, maintaining a positive and safe learning environment, and following school policies and routines. Compensation is $100 per day for non-licensed teachers and $120 per day for licensed teachers.

Requirements

• Minimum of an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new situations and follow directions.
• Positive attitude and commitment to student learning.

Nice To Haves

• Education degree preferred.
• Prior experience working with children strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lesson plans and instructional activities provided by the classroom teacher.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful learning environment.
• Follow school policies, procedures, and routines.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, the cafeteria, the playground, and other assigned areas.
• Communicate with staff and administration as needed.
