About The Position

Auburn-Washburn USD 437 is seeking Substitute Teachers to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring continuity of education for our students when regular teachers are absent. Requirements

• Completed employment file, including cleared background checks (Criminal and Child Abuse & Neglect Registry).
• Certification of Health, including a negative TB test and Signed Statement of Satisfactory Health.
• STEDI Training (mandatory for ESUB holders who haven't completed a teacher-prep program from an accredited university).
• Completed employment paperwork.
• Copy of KSDE Teaching License (Professional/Initial, Standard Substitute, or Emergency Substitute).
• Fingerprints (ink or Live Scan) and payment for KSDE license application/renewal if applicable.

Nice To Haves

• Former USD 437 teachers may receive a higher rate of pay.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
• Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher.
• Supervise students during non-instructional times.
• Complete any required documentation or reports.
