About The Position

Serve as a Daily Rate Substitute Teacher for the deaf or visually impaired, working with students attending the Laboratory Schools through the Heart of Illinois Low Incidence (HILIAS) program. This role involves providing academic classroom instruction for students in the absence of the regular teacher.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or show completion of 60 semester hours of coursework
• Short-Term Substitute License through the Regional Office of Education, or valid Illinois Substitute teaching certificate
• Demonstrates competent sign language skills OR competent braille skills

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Daily Rate Substitute Teacher for the deaf or visually impaired
• Work with students attending the Laboratory Schools through the Heart of Illinois Low Incidence (HILIAS) program
• Provide academic classroom instruction for students in the absence of the regular teacher
