Assumes responsibility for the general supervision, development and education of children within their assigned classroom. This role involves planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities, establishing a climate of respect, and interacting daily with children to support their learning process, including problem-solving and social-emotional development. The position requires providing direct support, engaging with children's play, and guiding behaviors positively. Key responsibilities also include establishing and maintaining positive relationships with parents/caregivers, conversing regularly about child development, maintaining DRDP and Portfolio records, replenishing learning materials, preparing healthy snacks, implementing the Creative Curriculum model, and conducting parent-teacher conferences. The role ensures quality services in accordance with NAEYC standards and full compliance with Title 5, State Department of Education, Child Development Division Funding Terms and Conditions, and Title 22, Community Care Licensing regulation. Administrative duties include planning and supervising programs, completing and maintaining various reports (Lesson Plans, Staffing Matrix, Daily Health Checks, CCFP paperwork), supervising Teacher Assistants, maintaining confidentiality, and providing support to the Site Supervisor/Regional Director. Health and safety responsibilities involve providing a safe and clean learning environment, reporting hazards and injuries, observing safety rules, maintaining clean spaces, following health and safety standards for food handling and hygiene, and monitoring children for signs of illness.
