Assists the Teacher and Master Teacher with assuming responsibility for general supervision, development and education of children within their assigned classroom. This role involves direct services such as planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, establishing a climate of respect for each child's individuality, and interacting positively with children to support their learning process. Key aspects include assisting children with problem-solving, contributing to social-emotional development, modeling pro-social behaviors, and guiding behaviors positively. The aide also provides direct support, engagement, and extension of play and learning experiences, maintains positive relationships with parents/caregivers, assists in maintaining DRDP and Portfolios, replenishes materials, prepares snacks, implements the Creative Curriculum model, and ensures quality services in accordance with NAEYC standards. The position requires full compliance with Title 5, State Department of Education, Child Development Division Funding Terms and Conditions, and Title 22, Community Care Licensing regulation, while maintaining confidentiality. Additionally, the role involves providing a pleasant, safe, and clean learning environment, reporting hazards and injuries, observing safety rules, maintaining cleanliness, following health and safety standards for food handling and hygiene, and watching for signs of illness in children.
