About The Position

This is a long-term substitute position for a Special Services Teacher. The primary responsibilities include providing supportive services to meet student needs, preparing and communicating clear learning objectives aligned with curriculum and individual goals, and creating a conducive classroom environment appropriate for student maturity and interests. The role also involves collaborating with other school personnel for the identification, diagnosis, and remediation of students with specialized needs, and communicating with parents about student progress and the school program.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree
• Appropriate Illinois State Teaching Certification
• LBS1 certification

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive services that will assist in meeting the needs of students.
• Prepare and communicate clear objectives which guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum and/or individual goals.
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Work cooperatively with other school personnel in the identification, diagnosis, and remediation of individual students with specialized needs.
• Make provisions for parental communication through conferences and other means to discuss student progress and interpret the school program.
