About The Position

Under general supervision of the Director of Safety & Risk Management, this position is responsible for promoting and facilitating a safe campus environment for students and staff of the assigned school by assisting school administration with general supervision of the student population. Such efforts include, but are not limited to, the physical security of the buildings and grounds, and the personal safety of students, faculty and staff.

• Ability to handle sensitive information while protecting privacy and confidentiality

Nice To Haves

• Associates or Bachelors degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervises weapons detection system and metal detector use at student arrival, late arrivals and visitors throughout the day.
• Responds to and investigates all safety concerns and emergency situations
• Assists administration in resolving conflicts between students and/or staff
• Monitors designated areas of the campus including, but not limited to, hallways, restrooms, cafeteria, external doors and parking lots.
• Monitors and maintains video, radio, alarm, weapons detection, metal detection and access control systems
• Works closely with local law enforcement agencies to monitor the status of students charged with criminal offenses
• Participate in random K-9 and metal detector inspections
• Serve as a member of the school level Behavioral Threat Assessment team
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director
