About The Position
The Substitute School Nurse works directly with students and staff members to provide health related services during the school day.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Illinois
- Current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation program completed
- Express good judgment and ability to maintain the confidentiality of employees, students and families
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills as well as organizational and technology skills
Nice To Haves
- Prior nursing experience in a school environment is preferred
- School Nurse Certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a professional and service oriented atmosphere in the Health clinic area
- Provide professional direct nursing care and emergency assistance to students and staff as needed
- Supervise and/or administer medications
- Record attendance and clinic visit notes
- Contact the parents of students who are injured or ill
- Ability to interact and work with a diverse population, including students, parents, faculty and staff
