About The Position

This employee is responsible for carrying out the directions from the classroom teacher as appropriate as the paraprofessional for whom he/she is substituting. Duties of this position include but are not limited to: Follows established Individual Educational Plans to improve socially significant behaviors under the supervision of the Teacher and Building Principal/Director of Grants. Incorporates specific educational objectives into the context of on-going activities, as appropriate. Facilitates opportunities for generalization and maintenance of skills. Communicates with students' parents via communication log. Schedules activities as directed. Presents subject matter to students, utilizing a variety of methods and techniques such as lecture, discussion, and supervised role playing or as otherwise directed by the Teacher. Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts. May need assistance with toileting and lifting. Other duties as assigned.
