Job SummarySt Peter Catholic Church, St Charles is seeking a faith-filled, talented, and reliable Substitute Organist/Accompanist to provide musical support for liturgies and rehearsals as needed. The ideal candidate has experience playing for Catholic worship, a strong sense of musicality, and the ability to support congregational singing and enhance the prayerful atmosphere of the Mass.
Requirements
- Proficiency in organ and/or piano performance (required)
- Experience accompanying choirs, cantors, or liturgical ensembles preferred
- Familiarity with Catholic liturgy and hymnody required
- Dependable, flexible, and able to adapt to changing schedules
- Practicing Catholic preferred
Responsibilities
- Serve as organist/accompanist for weekend Masses and other liturgical celebrations as needed.
- Accompany choir rehearsals, cantor practices, or special music events when requested.
- Collaborate with the music director, cantors, and parish staff to ensure seamless liturgical music planning.
- Maintain a prayerful and reverent approach to all liturgical music.
- Adapt music selections as needed and provide accompaniment for hymns, psalms, and liturgical responses.
