This is a 1.0 FTE Long-Term Substitute Librarian position to cover a leave of absence from approximately September 4, 2026 to November 25, 2026. The position offers $175 per diem for days worked and is a non-benefits eligible, at-will position. The role involves meeting and instructing students during assigned class time, planning a program of study that meets individual student needs, and creating a conducive learning environment. The substitute librarian will prepare lessons, encourage student behavior standards, guide the learning process, and employ various instructional techniques. They will strive to implement the district's educational philosophy, assess student accomplishments, and protect students and equipment. The position requires maintaining accurate records, assisting with policy implementation, and being available for education-related purposes outside of instructional time. Planning and supervising assignments for aides and volunteers, and maintaining professional competence are also key responsibilities. The role includes teaching the adopted course of study, instructing pupils in citizenship, developing lesson plans, providing individualized instruction, establishing behavior standards, evaluating student growth, and communicating with parents. The substitute will identify pupil needs, cooperate with staff, create an effective learning environment, and participate in professional development and committee work. Other duties as assigned are also part of the role.
