About The Position

Notre Dame de Sion, a Catholic grade school in Kansas City, is seeking a Substitute Instructor for the 26-27 school year. The Substitute Instructor will be responsible for delivering the provided curriculum and supervising children across various age groups, from Montessori through eighth grade. This role requires maintaining a safe learning environment, managing basic student records, and upholding the Sion Mission on the Grade School campus. The position is non-exempt and reports to the Grade School Principal.

Requirements

• Must be available for on-call scheduling by 6:00am, the night before or advanced notice.
• Knowledge and understanding of and commitment to the Sion mission.
• Minimum 60 college credit hours.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills.
• Strong public speaking skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with students, parents, faculty and staff.
• Flexibility in working with a variety of faculty and students across the divisions.
• Ability to accept professional feedback.
• Strong ability to work collegially with the Division faculty and support team.
• Must demonstrate competency with school related technology.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or related field preferred.
