Before & After School Program SUBSTITUTE Group Leader
About The Position
AlphaBEST Education provides extended-day, summer, and enrichment programs designed to inspire and engage students as they discover and learn beyond the school day in a fun, safe environment. As an AlphaBEST Group Leader, you'll help shape meaningful after-school moments that help kids learn, grow, and thrive. You'll gain valuable experience working with children and collaborating with a team. We're looking for an early learning professional who: Enjoys working with children in a structured, high-energy environment Takes child safety seriously and follows procedures closely Is flexible, reliable, and ready to jump in wherever needed This role is ideal for students studying: Education, Child Development, Psychology, Social Work, Recreation or Youth Development.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- CPR and First Aid certification required (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting (up to 25 pounds)
- Minimum one year of child care experience in a classroom setting.
- Ability to work Mon-Fri 2:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Responsibilities
- Lead a group of students through daily curriculum activities (World Languages, STEAM, Fitness, Maker, and Arts)
- Make child safety the top priority at all times
- Keep the space clean and organized
- Help create an environment where kids feel supported and included
- Build strong relationships with teammates, kids, families, and school staff
